Granted, not many non-noble families kept many records but a great many records were kept about them, court cases, wills, deeds, etc. It is these that one must look to, and thankfully, more and more of them are being put online.

As to those branches leading to minor nobility; unless each link is researched, checked, and verified they are *VERY* questionable.
