The reunion will meet on the third Sunday, August 22, 2004, at the air continioned War Memorial Building (WMB), Main Street, Wardensville, WV. The building is directly across the street from the local VFW. Look for a sign saying "HEISHMAN REUNION." This year, interested parties may chose to worship at Crest Hill Community Church. Thomas Heishman purchased the church property after moving his family out ot the Baughman Settlement, and the Heishmans started a church known as Crest Hill Mennonite Church. Surviving grandchildren have many wonderful memories of attending services there. The reunion will start with a tour of local cemeteries of Heishman interest or attending church servies, followed by a carry-in meal and sharing items of interest, stories, and memories. For those interested parties, there will be a tour of the Baughman Settlement in the afternoon.
The schedule is as follows:
9:30 am - Meet at WMB to unload food and/or set up displays of pictures, genealogies, etc.
10:00 am - Leave to tour cemeteries or attend
11:00 am - Crest Hill Church services
12:30 pm - Enjoy carry-in lunch.
Feel free to bring pictures, genealogies, etc. to display.
2:30 pm - For those interested parties, there will be a tour of the
Baughman Settlement.
There has been an interest in developing an updated geneology of the family. If you have any questions feel free to contact: Irvin Heishman W 1-800-ROCKHAM or H 1-304-874-3356; or Maxine Bowman 1-540-434-2407 for further instructions and/or obtain a copy of the Heishman Family Questionnaire so that you can complete it ahead of time and send it in or bring it to the family reunion. Be sure and get the genealogy sheets completed for your family so you won't be left out. Do it NOW. For those of you coming from a distance, there are numerous hotels/motels along I-81 as it goes through the beautiful Shenandoah Valley just east of Wardensville. This area also offers a variety of historic places to visit and natural wonders to see (Skyline Drive, national forests, etc.). SAFE TRAVELS AND WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING YOU SOON.
