A family reunion has been planned for June 1st & 2nd, 2013 in Salt Lake City and Kaysville.
A weekend of coming together to share, honor, and remember our ancestors of the past.

We have heard that a reunion organized by Scott Heiner of Germany and descendant of Johann Martin and Adelgunda Heiner is
planned for July 14 in Morgan. The reported source is Deseret News Dec. 3,2011. We did not read this source. It may be a mistake. Please inform us whether the information is accurate and if so, we would appreciate receiving the details. We are a family of descendants. Thank you

There will be a Carter Reunion for descendants of John and Hannah Knight Libby Carter. Many of their descendants settled in and around the Utah County area.

Please note that the next Cowgill Reunion will be held in Charleston, WV, probably the last weekend in June of 2009 (watch for announcements here and on the Cowgill GenForum page). Researchers will have their data with them.

Please let me know during the reunion that was held did anyone come from the east coast or share any Cowgill information that related to Pennsylvania Cowgill's and Bright name. I have a Mary A. Cowgill that did live in Berks Co., Pa, in Reading. She passed away I believe September 1904. Looking for anyone to share info with or may have any articles or photos.

Cowgill Family Reunion

The next Cowgill Cousins reunion will be 8 - 12 June 2005 in Salt Lake City (those who wish to do additional research may arrive as early as the 6th and stay longer).

Plan to meet and visit with "cousins", do research in the extensive holdings of the Family History Library (within a block from our hotel), or tour the city and the exciting Salt Lake area. For those not interested in genealogy, there are plenty of parks, museums, galleries, pioneer villages, a zoo, and the Olympic Village within easy reach. Good public transport means you can forget the car!

We will meet and stay at the Best Western Salt Lake Plaza Hotel at Temple Square (800-366-3684 toll-free) in the heart of Salt Lake City across the street from Historic Temple Square, next door to the genealogy library. A special rate of $79 per room has been set for Cowgill Cousins attendees. The hotel has a shuttle from the airport. See a virtual tour of the rooms and facilities at www.plaza-hotel.com.

Dear Rev. Field,

I'm afraid that I too cannot help you with information about your uncle. It is possible that he was buried in an unmarked grave. I'm sorry.

My Holmans came to America very early, in the late 1600s, so it is unlikely that we could be related in any particular way.

Thank you for answering. I don't think I have any information to be of help to you. Both of my parents are gone, so I'm trying to do research on my own. I have a cousin who is a lot older...he remembers our grandparents.....who I never meant....but he wants nothing to do with geneology...does not even want to talk about it.. If I do come across something I will let you know.

Hi Vicky,
My maiden name is Hollemann (in Germany, man is spelled with 2 n) and my paternal ancestors are from Peine close to the city of Hannover in Niedersachsen (Lower Saxony).
After WW II my uncle Hans Heinrich Hollemann was MiA and the Red Cross or any such organisations have not been able to find a trace, i.e. a grave or even a note about the fate of my uncle.
His birthday is the 20th of March 1920 and he was about 24 or 25 yrs. old at his confirmed Missing in Action.
Since my dad has died in 1957 (he was one year younger) have I promised to search.
I may not learn about my uncle, but perhaps we share a ancestor together ?

My mother was a Holleman. How do I find out about the newsletter. I can trace the Holleman's on my side back to a Thomas K. Holleman born 1799, but can not seem to get any further. Any info would be appreciated.

Barbara--Please contact me regarding the Holman reunion in Salt Lake City this summer. I am very interested. I am descended from Edward, and his son Henry, who lived in Kent County, Maryland from the late 1600's till the mid 1700's. I know Edward died in 1744, and Henry moved west and was killed in Kentucky. I am obviously interested in this mid-Atlantic branch of the family tree. I look forward to hearing from you. Jim Holman

My Holman surname comes from Holland and as far as I know has never been in the United States. I am from Australia but have lived in the US for about 27 years. Before Holland, my ancestors trace back to Oldenburg, Germany, the name changing back to Hollmann and eventually Hollemann. Since I live only 2 hours away from Salt Lake City, I would be interested in the reunion in 2003, but the only thing I could contribute would be my Dutch/German Holmans and their genealogy. The reunion/gathering is primarily for subscribers to the Holeman/Holman newsletter published by Roger and Merry Ann Malcolm of Illinois, but it is open to anyone, just as the newsletter is now open to anyone researching the surname. However, the newsletter has generally been for folks researching Holeman/Holmans in America. The earliest known ancestor that many subscribers descend from is Daniel Holman/Holeman who entered the Shenandoah Valley in 1736. The gathering is primarily for his descendants and those who may be connected. Plans are not made for the reunion program yet but I hope it will be of broader reserach interest than just Holmans in America.
