You are invited to attend the Payne/Oliphant family gathering to be held at Pioneer Days, Milam, TX on April 17th. This will be the first year a Payne Family booth will be at Pioneer Days, so be sure to come and see us. Please pass this invitation on to your family members or anyone you know who is a descendant of the Texas Oliphant's or Payne's.
The Payne's and Oliphant's came to Texas circa 1835/36 and settled in Sabine County. A.D.(Alfred Davenport) Oliphant and John M. Payne were both pioneers in settling this area of East Texas. A.D. and John's children(Mahala Oliphant and John Payne, Jr) married in 1844 and settled in Walker Cty, TX(Huntsville). I am a direct descendant of John and Mahala.
If you belong to any of these Texas Payne Lines, you are most likely a descendant of John M. Payne/Margaret Rush Williams Payne:
Epperson Duke Payne,
Teresa Payne Holloway,
Emily Payne Garrett,
Benjamin Williams Payne,
Mary Payne McRae,
John M. Payne,
