Our planning committee for the 2008 Kathan Famiuly Reunion has selected Lake George, NY on August 8-10. We hope that many of Capt. John Kathan's descendants will participate at Fort William Henry Resort and Conference Center. This location was chosen because Capt. John Kathan of Putney, VT enlisted in the militia at Northfield, Mass for the Crown Point expedition. They never made it , but fought battles at Lake George and built Fort Henry, which was bombarded and destroyed in 1758. The fort was rebuilt 50 years ago. Some other families connected to Kathans are Moore/Moor, Baird/Beard, Willard, Frost, Bigelow, Gill, Dutton, Sargent, Allen, Barrett, MacFarland etc.
