John/Johannes & Aseneth (GAVER) SCHLEIFFER/SLIFER are my 5th great grandparents. They settled in Burkittsville, Frederick Co., MD, from Bucks Co., PA. He was also an elder of the Broad Run Bretheren Church. Though their headstones are in the cemetery at the Pleasant View Bretheren Church in Burkittsville, they are buried at the Burkittsville/Slifer Cemetery south of Burkittsville. Charles Slifer, their 2nd great grandson & my great grandfather, came to Ogle County, IL with his brother John, from Locust Grove, Washington Co., MD.

I've made several trips to Frederick & Washington Counties for genealogical research, and they have been topics of discussion at the SLIFER reunions. We have a cousin who is a member of the LDS church, and they show each year. It has been agreed, by all, that we would love to extend an invitation to all descendants of Johannes/John SCHLEIFFER/SLIFER.

We have a SLIFER reunion on the 2nd Sunday of June each year, which is June 8th this year. We would like to extend an invitation to all descendants of Johannes SCHLEIFFER/SLIFER. It is held at the Morrison Rockwood State Park in Morrison, IL. There is plenty at the park to keep everyone happy, including a campground.
