Greetings,

On Monday September 10th, members of the Degruy family will be meeting at the Jefferson Parish Public Library for a Get To Know You meeting. Although this is not an official "Reunion," we hope it will prepare the way for a Reunion.

We will exchange information on our various lines and discuss potential avenues of research.

We already have a discussion list through Rootsweb and a web site through Myfamily, but this will be the first time many of us will meet in a "non-virtual" way.

If you are a Degruy or connected through an allied family [Boutte, Guilmotte dit la Lande, Villarubia, Gaiennie, Dupont, Couturier, Cone, Gaudin, de Montault, Laissard, Guerin, St. Pre, Saint Pe, St. Amand, Desforges, Forno, Price, Salomon, Nicaud, Saulet, Fazende, Foucher, Falgou, de Glapion, Bachemin, Casterade, among others too many to continue to list here.]

This also includes the variant spellings of Degruy [Degruise, Dugruise, Degruys], etc., IF the common ancestor was Antoine Jean-Baptiste Valéntin Du Mésnil Fouchart Verloin DeGruy who was stationed at Fort de Chartres in colonial Illinois during the period ca. 1740-1759.

Please contact me offlist if you require further information.

Thanks,
Renee
