Brown and Bartholomew County, Indiana Gates Descendents,

If you are descended from David Gates (1824-1894, married Sidney Shahan) or Daniel Gates (1826-1911,married Nancy Griffin), you are invited to the annual Gates reunion. These Gates brothers were born in Germany and moved to Bartholomew and Brown Counties (Indiana) sometime prior to 1860 after spending some time in northern Kentucky and Cincinnati.

The reunion is always the last Sunday in August. We will meet and eat at 1:00 at the Beech Shelter in Johnson County Park (old Camp Atterbury near Edinburgh, Indiana). Bring your family, table service, whatever food you want to share, lawn chairs, and any family information that you want to share. There is a playground nearby for the children.

Hope all of you Gates descendents can join us. If you can’t make it this year, please put it on your calendar for next year!
