“Shall We Gather At The River” Parcus Family Reunion

Who: Parcus/Pockrus Family members would like to invite Bentley, Hardin and Whitaker descendents

When: Saturday, Sept 3rd, 2011 Time: 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Where: 1073 Scott Branch Road, New Hope, AL 35760

Directions:
From Huntsville: Take 431 S. From Publix in Hampton Cove, go 10 miles. Turn Right at Oak Grove Road. Go three miles. House is on left.
From Birmingham: Hwy 79 North to Guntersville. Left on 431/Florida Short Route. Go 18 miles. Turn Left at Oak Grove Road. Go three miles. House is on the Left.
Please note: If using GPS, satellite connection will be lost about 4 houses before you arrive.

Lodging:
If you are campers, you are welcome to bring your gear and set up a tent and spend the night on property. Please let us know in advance so we can prepare a campsite and breakfast in the am

Activities:
Located on the Paint Rock River. Swimming will be allowed only with flotation device. There are no exceptions to this rule-life vest, float, or noodles are all acceptable. No swimming if the current is swift. There will be a tent set up to change clothes. Bring towel.
There will be a photographer to take family photos.

Dinner will be served starting around 4:00 and will not stop until we have all eaten too much
Music starts at 5:00

What to bring:
1)This is a “potluck” affair, so bring your favorite recipe. Call Julie Parcus Reese to see what we
need so we don’t have 35 versions of potato salad. Refrigerator space is not guaranteed, so bring a cooler. Julie has a list of needed items (non-perishable) for people coming from out of town.
2) Old photos of family members
3) Comfortable Canvas/folding chair per person
4) Musical instruments and a voice. If you play, pick or sing you are encouraged to join in.

Dress is River Casual. Parents are requested to make their children behave. We reserve the right to separate adults participating in fist-a-cuffs or head bashing. As with all Parcus Family Functions-- all weapons will be held at the door. lol
