Janet Gray was the daughter of John Gray and Mary (sometimes Janet) Hogg. John was from Dumbarton and Mary from Dunfanaghy Donegal. John and Mary emigrated in 1855 on the Golden Era with their 4 daughters. Mary's sister, Ellen, from Dunfanaghy, had previously gone to Victoria, and John's half brother followed John to NSW. Does any of this sound familiar. I am very excited at the thought of finding a relative of this family. There are a lot of us descended from Janet and her sisters.
