Help with Marriage Cert Info...

Hi, I ordered and received my Great Grand parents marriage cert yesterday. I ordered it to confirm I was heading in the right direction with my Great Grandmother's Father's name. I turns out I was heading the right direction. Only now I am concerned that I am heading in the wrong direction with my Great Grandfather's family. I thought his Father was Thomas(according to Ancestry hints), but I am finding the cert hard to read and I don't think that the Father's name reads Thomas. I can not for the life of me work it out. Can anyone else work it out? I could really do with some help so I can progress.

Many thanks,

Laura.

Hi,

This is how I read it, but I could be wrong:

The Register Office Wirral
27 September 1919
Benjamin Bradley 19 years, bachelor, canal boatman, the canal boat Ellesmere Port
Father John Bradley …?..works labourer

Hope this helps

Lyn

I don't think that it is legible at all.

Have you thought about ringing the register office, where the marriage took place and asking them if their original is clearer?

I hadn't thought of that at all. I'm not sure were they would have married. I know that the marriage took place in the district of Wirral at the registry office. And I know that Ellesmere Port no longer has a registry office now, if it ever did. I will do some digging. Thank you Megan.
