Hi Christine, thank you for your reply I am questioning if a handwritten birth certificate was common practice in the U.S. in the 1960's because I have one. I have since inquired of friends and extended family who are the same age and they do not have one. It is handwritten in my father's handwriting and I thought it was curious. I was told that I was a hospital birth but wonder about the necessity of the handwritten document and what that may mean, if anything.
