Can anyone help me out with this please. Is this an old letter or way of writing a letter please?
It is a name, They were also from wales apparently if they have a different way of writing a name.
From late 18th century.

I am completely confused as to what the letter actually is.

I am sorry about the bad focus. It is on some florescent card and the camera keeps going crazy.

Without seeing more of the card to compare different letter forms, it is difficult to say much. I'm afraid. This looks like an American-style "G" that has been altered / over-written to a "T".

Thanks - the new larger image is much clearer. I continue to interpret it as an American style capital "G" that has been over-written / corrected, but would now opinion that the over-written letter is a J" or somewhat less likely, a "T". If the card is in the same handwriting as other material you have, then I would suggest comparing these letters with others.
