Decoding NUMIDENT information?

I have obtained the NUMIDENT information for a previously unknown relative and the data contains some internal codes that if I understood them would be helpful. Can anyone tell me what the following means?

ETC: L

CLD: 03/25/1966

DOA: Torrance CA

CYD: 03/16/1966

ETC: T

EDR: N

CYD: 06/02/1993

I am hoping that some of this may help pin down where he died as he does not appear in CA state or county death records. He may have died out of state and one of these codes may contain that information. The rest of the data provided was self-explanatory and so I have not included it in this post.

You will find most of the NUMIDENT codes explained at http://policy.ssa.gov/poms.nsf/lnx/0100209004?OpenDocument. Alternatively, go to Social Security Online (www.ssa.gov) and search on both NUMIDENT and the code letters.

I resurrecting this thread in the hope that someone out there might have the necessary information. I too received a numident report today in which I thing the internal codes (not explained in the code key) may actually be meaningful in helping me find a date of death.

The internal codes on my numident are:

CLD: 01/21/1959

DOA: Binghamton NY

DOD: 10/31/1958

CYD: 09/24/1976

Does anyone have any idea what these codes refer to? Could DOD be date of death?

FYI - This is the first and last time I'll order a numident. What a rip-off compared to requesting a copy of the actual application. The info provided is just a regurgitation of what I already sent in my request.

Thanks

Googled it and finally found this page, which explains the codes. Hope it helps. (Yes, it says DOD = date of death, for claimants prior to 1972):

I found a Users Guide for the Numident that was compiled by RAND Corporation in a Google search. Clicking on the link downloads a 651 page manual. The Numident description is on page 406 and details of data fields follow. Here is what Google provided as an address that pops up a window about downloading or opening with Adobe Acrobat the document file itself. First below I provide the tinyurl.com version and then the complete version from Google.
