Accuracy of "hints"

I keep seeing the following in my hints, besides census, stories, etc, and am wondering how accurate these are.
"U.S. and International Marriage Records 1560-1900"
"Family Data Collection-..."
"Millennium File"
Are these just taken from peoples trees so just as "accurate" as clicking on their tree or are these actually "sourced"? I know some dates don't always match each other but what about when it comes to the actual people?
I hope I made sense.
