There are many, many wonderful people on these message boards that are always ready and willing to help people out.
Your first step is to list the names of the people you are looking for information on.
List there name, birth date (even if it's just an "about", where they were born etc.
Something like this:

Looking for information on William Jones, born about 1877 in New York, died about 1943 in Ohio. William married Jane Smith about 1900 in Texas. Jane was born about 1880 in Florida and died about 1956 in Indiana. William and Jane had children named Joseph born about 1902 and Susan born about 1904.

Don't worry if you don't have all that type of information, any names, dates, and places will sure get you help from someone. UNLESS OF COURSE THEY ARE STILL LIVING !
