Lookup Pittsburgh Marriage Record

Hello,
I am looking for a marriage record for Anna Maria Winter. She married approx. 1898 or 1899 to Markus (Marcus / Max) Stehle and I guess this happened to be in Pittsburgh, Pa., maybe somewhere Southside. Her father was Michael Winter.
Unfortunately I do not have the exact marriage data and my family keeps telling me, they were married in Chicago, but this cannot be true, as marriage pictures where taken in Pittsburgh.
Is there somebody, who can look up marriage data in Pitt? I've tried several databases, but could not find them.
Thank you in advance.

I have not had success with Carnegie Library (waiting 3 months now) but I did read that they are shutting down libraries so it may be a staffing problem.

I am more than happy to cover your expenses and perhaps if you making the trip you can help me out as well.

thanks in advance

dmullin13@att.net

Morris family Pa Ky

Carl Morris of Hawesville Ky sent me a letter about 1968. He wrote that our Morris family came from England.
He also wrote that about 1910, three family members were selected to visit the graveyards in Louisville and Owensboro area. They were to write down the names of all our deceased relatives. Then they collected the names of all our living Morris relatives. They added these names, about 200 of them ,together They made a family tree of our Morris family from the time they left England. They sent it to a Government Bldg , he did not know which one.
They received 2 photostatic copies, both of which were lost. He could not find this tree. Sadly, he has passed, but I am still looking. Any thoughts appreciated as to how I might find my Dad's Morris family.
Ruby Porter

I really need to know if Joseph had any brothers or sisters and what his parents names were and where they were from. No information was handed down in the family as (Charles Frank md.Rosalia Katherina Noller ) died when my grandmother Carrie Clara Frank was 16 years old and her mother died when she was 11 years old. ~Gayla

voss5@papadocs.com

That is a shame. Sorry. I, too, have only found some, yet can find the return of death with the Odd Fellow as a burial place. I plan to go in person and look at the records myself. My GGG grandfather was there with a stone marker, now, no one knows. I read that, when they moved the cemetery to build, only later did they find more graves. Sounds pretty poorly organized to me, not to mention, frustrating for us! Good luck in your quest.

I am searching for information about my Great Grandparents, John Komar and Maria Repko. John born June 1860, Maria born May 1860. They resided in 1900 in St. Francois County (Perry Township), Missouri. They may have been married in 1884 as the first child Mary was born in 1885. Other siblings to follow - John in 1889, Dorothy in 1892, Anna in 1894 and Barbra in 1898. Dorothy is my grandmother. All born in Missouri except Dorothy in New York, I believe. I have only a snip-it that states that John Komar and Maria Repko were born in Pennsylvania. Date and location unknown.

According to the Missouri 1900 census they immigrated to the USA in 1880.

Can you help?

Thanks,

Rick

He indicates that he was born in Pennsylvania on 10/20/1888 the son of Dutch immigrants. Previous information indicates he was born in Reading, Berks County. And his parents were John Roy and Sarah(Guiles)Wilson. I'm not sure of the spelling of Sarah's last name. Accept for his Marriage to Nancy Rae Lufkin in Gloucster, MA on 10/22/1912 and his application for a SS Account Number in 1943, this is all I know of Harry. The information about his birth date, parent's names, and birth place are consistent on both documents. I'm hoping this new information about his Dutch immigrants parents my be helpful.

Thanks,

Jim Wilson

Birth or Immigration records for Lindsays 1820s and 1830s?

I know there is little chance I’ll be able to find anything in my case, but I’m putting it out there just in case.
My great great great great great grandparents John and Sarah Lindsay sometime between Sarah’s birth in 1811 and that of their oldest known child, daughter Matilda in 1834.
There are many conflicting bits of information regarding this family, one of which brings me to this message board. The family moved to some part of Canada in the 1830s and remained there until about 1841-1842, when they crossed the border into the states headed directly for Illinois (they had Mormon ties for a period of time and made the exodus to Utah in about 1850).
I hadn’t been able to find the children, except for the sister that I descend from, for a long time, and when I did it appeared that the oldest daughter was born in Canada. I’ve recently found her in later censuses, however, and as an adult, she is adamant about the fact that she was born in Pennsylvania. Four separate census records show this and, oddly enough, all the other older siblings (including the second oldest child born in 1836) all adamantly record their birth locations as Canada their entire lives in census record and obituaries.
I was wondering if there was a chance that maybe the Lindsays came to America first before moving on quickly to the states. I’ve been unsuccessfully searching the sparse early Canadian immigration records and thought I’d give this a shot.
I’m hoping that maybe someone has come across a John and Sarah Lindsay (I’m not sure if they were married before or after they immigrated) coming to Pennsylvania between about 1815 and 1836, or if anyone knows of the birth of a Matilda Linday in Pennsylvania in about 1834 (1832-1835). If it helps at all, John is recorded as being Scottish, and Sarah was born in Ireland in 1810/1811. They had ties to the LDS church, which I believe is the reason they came to the states when they did, and I think (given a trend in the children’s birth locations) that both parents might have come from Ireland, although this is just a guess. And, mother Sarah’s name might be Thompson.
If anyone could help me out or knows of somewhere I could look, please let me know as I would really appreciate it. For more information about this family (names and dates), please feel free to take a look at my web site www.thebluebox.tribalpages.com.
Thank you all.
Have you found his death certificate? That should have his birth info, too (although it MIGHT not be accurate.) You could also search for his marriage record, will, tombstone, and obituary.

The Erie County Courthouse birth records do not begin until 1893 and the Pennsylvania Dept of Health's birth records begin with 1906.

Do you know what religion and/or what house of worship they may have attended? That organization may have birth/baptism records.
