If you are still out there (Old posting 2001), I too am a descendant of Ebenezer Shreve. He is my Great, Great Grandfather. I am 67 yrs. old. Regarding your query; Ebenezer's parents are John Shreve and Abigail Ridgeway. John's parents are Israel Shreve and Grace Curtis. John Shreve is half-brother to Henry Miller Shreve. The City of Shreveport, Louisiana was named after Henry. I don't claim to be the expert here. I'm working with my cousin who really owns our family tree on Ancestry.com. My Grandmother was Dottie Ann Shreve; Daughter of William Cicero (Pa Pete) Shreve. William and John Homer ran away from home and joined the 119th Infantry Regiment in Illinois to fight for the North in the Civil War. They were too young to fight so they were assigned as "drummers". One day while drumming on Sherman's March, John Homer took a bullet in his head. He was taken back to Missouri where he later died. William stayed with his outfit and mustered out in 1865.
