Jackie .......................................................................................   I am looking for parents of Thomas HOLMES, b. 1785, we think in New York City or somewhere close. He married Eunice DEMAREST 1806 at St. Stephen's (Episcopal) Church in NYC. I have looked everywhere I can think of (census records, city directories, FHL, WorldConnect, etc. etc.) and still nothing on his folks. Thomas was a shipwright (shipjoiner), so it may be that his family was in the ship building trade. Son Charles D. Holmes, b. 1808, who moved to Buffalo, NY abt 1840 and died there in 1850, was also a shipwright. Hope someone can help. I am at a dead end. Thanks...   Jackie
