I'm looking for a James Francis Fox.
He was born in September 1891 in Leitrim County, Ireland.
In 1917, he was living in New Britain, Hartford County, CT.

I would greatly appreciate any help you could provide.

Thanks, Jim

Hi Jim,

I couldn't find him in the WW1 Draft reg. In 1920 he was living with Thomas & Rose Lee? brother-in-law.

This is the only Fox in WW1 that is close:

Name: Francis Fox
City: Manhattan
County: New York
State: New York
Birthplace: Ireland
Birth Date: 02 Jul 1891
Race: Caucasian
Roll: 1786812
DraftBoard: 152

Let me know is you want any of the images.
Kind regards
Darlene

Thank you for your quick reply.

The James Fox you found in the 1920 US census is the one I'm looking for. He was living with his Sister Rose and his brother-in-law Thomas Lee. I've already transcribed this information from the 1920 US census. In fact by the end of the 1920's six out of twelve Fox children from Ireland settled in CT.

Do you have any idea why someone would be missnig from the WWI draft registration?

Thanks again, Jim

Hi Jim,

I just checked Ancestry and noticed CT is not one of the States listed under residence. I never noticed that before. I couldn't find anything written at Ancesty saying only certain States were indexed. Sorry I couldn't help.........maybe someone else has an answer.

Kind regards
Darlene
