Hi, I admit...I don't know much about land records but I found this index listing below for my ancestor and was wondering if someone could tell me what I might expect to find on this record if I decide to order a copy of it. This is what I found:
New York Land Records, 1630-1975 Land and property records from the New York Land Office and county courthouses. The records include land grants, patents, deeds, and mortgages. This collection includes all counties except Franklin, Nassau, and Queens.

As you can see it is a very early record...1800 and my ancestor, Walter Waters along with his son, Walter Jr., bought land from Wm. Seely and Mr. Watson. How much genealogical information might I find? Thanks for the help.
