Re: Need Blank Draft Registration Forms WWII

Due to privacy laws, only the Fourth Registration, or "old man's registration," of the WWII draft registration cards is available. This registration includes men in 1942, who were between the ages of 45 and 64, and not currently in the military. At some point in the future, the other WWII draft registration cards will become available.

Re: NY state census forms

Amy, I've tried to track down a site where these forms can be found for you, however I've come up empty. Apparently Ancestry stopped providing the state census forms some time ago and nobody has posted them elsewhere on the web. I did find one site with a variety of other state census blanks:

http://www.americanpomeroys.org/StateCensus.html

Unfortunately this collection was limited in scope and doesn't include NY. Hopefully some other researcher out there may know of another site that has what you're looking for - good luck and please let us know if you find any new resources.

UPDATE - mere seconds after I posted this I tried again and found a great link:

http://www.free-genealogy-forms.com/Special-State-Censuses/

It looks like both the 1915 and 1925 NY State Census blanks are provided there. Hope that helps!

I created a blank copy of the fourth round of registrations (the "old man's registration"). According to ancestry, this was the only collection which was made public, not sure if the earlier three will ever be released or not. Maybe it's like the census, where they release the collections after a certain amount of years - anyone know if this is the case? Anyway here's a blank copy of the fourth round.

Need Blank Draft Registration Forms WWII

I am looking for blank WWII draft registration forms. I seem to have no problem finding forms for WWI, but cannot find anything on the Internet for WWII. Since Ancestry.com no longer provides these forms, I am having trouble finding one. If you know where I can get one, I would really appreciate it!

Re: What does that scan say?

One example - I have a partial and poor quality scan of the 1911 "Facts for Petition for Naturalization" for my great grandfather.

As far as I can tell this is a pretty hard-to-find document, I only found one other text-only version on the internet. I used the text along with my scan to create a clean blank template which has helped me to translate his answers.

If anyone has the same problem please let me know and I'll send the blank reproduction of this document to you.

Thought this would be a good spot for people looking for help on a government form (i.e. naturalization documents, death certificates, etc).

Often the scan you need for your tree is difficult to read / incomplete, if you need help finding a template or can provide others with help, please post here.
