I recently came across and set up an account on wikitree.
http://www.wikitree.com/Like the other wiki things, its goal is to group source the information like wikipedia in hopes that everyone working together will build a better and more accurate tree. so when you put things up on wiki tree it is not just your ancestor so anyone that is a descendent of that ancestor can add or edit information. I am not entirely convinced that this will work, mostly due to the uploading of records that have very little information beyond a first name and last name.
I have an extremely accurate family tree and i am very confident in my relationships....it isn't that i know the most about a record but i do not want someone else that has not researched the record very well making potentially wrong changes. but then wikipedia works out OK i suppose.
so has anyone here tried if for a reasonable amount of time to judge if it is worth the time invested?
