Your message uses the word offered. I have to agree if it is a purchase, by all means ask for some scans and some recent dates you have undoubtedly put together and are familiar with. I at one time bought a box lot at an auction. It contained an old family Bible that had been filled in and photographs and letters inside. I tracked down someone who was related. He sent me his genealogy in a 27 page report which now is at our historical society library. He divulged that being a LDS they had to do 3 generations of research. And he was on such a roll continued. I sent him the book and contents and tho he offered to pay what I had paid for the box lot and shipping, I certainly declined. To return something to a family to whom it belonged was more of a blessing than I ever hoped. So not all offers are scams. But scams exist in everything!
