During my searching in Ancestry.com I have found that a lot of my ancestors are mentioned in the Boston Transcript. I have looked all over the internet and cannot find where anyone sells copies of it or archives or has transcribed it anywhere. I have looked in my local libraries and no one has it. Can someone tell me what the Boston Transcript is? Is it a newspaper or a genealogical publication? And can anyone tell me where I can find access to it to look up the articles I'd like to research, please? Thank you for helping!

You probably already got your answer... The New England Historic Genealogical Society Research Library in Boston has copies of The Boston Transcript on microfilm. For more information, go to

Okay, but what good will a microfilm in Boston do for a guy in Vegas?

You might be able to obtain a microfilm from a local LDS Church Family History Library. They may be able to order films with the indexes as well as the genealogical clippings themselves. You can check what is available at familysearch.org - go to the catalog and type in keyword "Boston Evening Transcript".

You've probably figured it out by now, but Google has most of the Boston Evening Transcript before 1916. Check it out:
