How do I hire some in Germany to search records?

I need to research my family in a specific town in Germany. I have been told that the best place to look for information is the town's church records. I do not speak German and can't afford to fly over to a small town in Germany to do research, especially when I probably couldn't read it if I did find anything. How do I contact/hire someone in Germany who might be willing to do this research for me?

Check to see if the association of professional genealogists or the board for certification of genealogists are international. Also try familysearch.org. Otherwise do a search on google for the town to see if somebody can do the research for you.

@tayjocon, @TerryClark1966,

if you like, I'll browse genealogical research resources in German to find somebody that can help you. Just be so kind to write the places in Germany you need help for.

I would suggest, you write your question in the "Germany General Board" once.

http://boards.ancestry.c/localities.ceeurope.germany.general...

Some amateur researchers can often help there very well!

To this, however, it is absolutely required; that you write the name of the town or the village; where from your ancestors came! You also shall not forget the surname. The reader has only in such a way a Summary; whether he can help you concretely.

Good luck at your search!

Hi,
did you find a researcher now? If you just need a researcher for a Bavarian place you can contact me at: dietmar.handl@kabelmail.de
I`m a professional researcher and I could help you with places in Bavaria. If you are searching for other places in Germany let me know and perhaps I can help you with informations to find another genealogist.
