Small CDV photo found in St. Louis, Missouri, antique mall. B&W photo of two young girls, identified as Ella and Rosa NEGLEY. The girls look to be about 4 and 5 years old. Reverse of photo indicates the photography studio was in Olney, Illinois. (Olney is in Richland Co.) Also on reverse of photo is the handwritten name Paulina SCHROEDER.
I did a quick search on the LDS 1880 census database and found Ella and Rosa NEGLEY living in the household of their uncle, David NEGLEY. Ella is 11 and Rosa is 9. They were born in Illinois, but their father was born in Wurtemberg and their mother in Saxony. David NEGLEY's residence in 1880 is in Grayville, Edwards Co., Illinois. Edwards Co. is adjacent to Richalnd Co., to the south.
I also found a marriage record on the Illinois Statewide Marriage Index for Rosa NEGLEY. She married Henry THOMANN on 5 October 1898 in Richland Co., Illinois.
I'd like to return this photos to the family. Is anyone researching this family? Please contact me directly if these are your folks. I will also post this to the NEGLEY and THOMANN message boards.
