Union Street, St Pancras

Can anyone tell me please where I might find a street or trade directory which covers Union Street (now Riding House Street), in St Pancras, between 1900 and 1907?

My great, great grandparents (by the name of Lester) lived there. He described himself alternately as either a gas/stove fitter or a bicycle maker. I believe there was a business called Boulting's that made gas stoves at one end of the street, but I've no idea if he worked there.

Thanks.

The Historical Directories collection at Leicester University have a few for that era and area online for free

http://specialcollections.le.ac.uk/cdm/map/collection/p16445...

as does Ancestry.co.uk - go for UK, City and County Directories on the Card Index

They will not contain lists of staff for a firm and his entry (should there be one) may only list his occupation. There may not be any indication of his employer.

You will need to look under London and Middlesex (depending on what areas constituted 'London' at the time!). St Pancras is in the Borough of Camden.

The book "British directories" by G.Shaw & A.Tipper, published by Leicester University, lists every known British directory published 1850-1950 and lists the locations they may be consulted. It is a wonderful (though complex) resource. You could probably borrow it via interlibrary loan.
