U. S. City Directories - who transcribed them?

U. S. City Directories - who transcribed them?

I've encountered nothing but errors in the transcription of names & addresses. Particularly in Boston, Massachusetts, City Directory - mostly in the 1940's. The names are all jumbled together, the telephone symbol was transcribed as an "A" in front of the last names and huge chunks of names are missing, etc. I've contacted Ancestry about this issue twice and gotten nothing but a form email. How can this be corrected? I offered to do it, but no reply. Considering how much one pays for an account on this site, it's beyond frustrating to not be able to find the information that I know is there. Ancestry should change their advertisements - it's NOT so easy to find information.

Perhaps you should also post this to the Ancestry Comments board which I believe is monitored by Ancestry
