You are correct! A kind gentleman went and looked up obituaries for Anna, Albert, and their son Max who died at age 16. Unfortunately, the information given has left me more confused. Anna's obituary listed her as having a father named Frederick Russ. It also listed two brothers Frederick and Richard, and a sister Louise/Louisa Koenig. I have not been able to find any information on them though when I search. I do not know if they all lived in Germany and stayed there or if they came to the US as well. I was left with more questions when I read Anna and Alberts son Max's obit. It listed his parents as Albert Oldenburg, and his mother as Anna Hespler. I have never seen her name listed as Anna Hespler before. My searches for her under that name come up empty but I do not have world explorer. The only way I can think her last name would have been Hespler before marrying Albert Oldenburg is if she was married before or took her mothers maiden name. Can anyone try to search for the Russ family as a whole? And maybe Anna Hespler. That one has really thrown me for a loop.
