Thanks for your reply. I will have a neighbor friend take some pictures of the painting and I will send them to you if that can be done here. Maybe you need to give me your email address for that.

I think you will like this story. My husband's grandmother was an antique dealer in N.J. back in the 50's and 60's and the person that found things for her to sell in her shop (her Picker) brought this painting to her. It has been hanging on the wall with family pictures for many years. They always joked that it was a family member.

Well now my mother-in-law has the painting and she has been selling some of the antiques left over from her mother's collection and she was wondering if this painting had any value. I told her I would try to see if I could find out anything about the artist. So here we are.

The painting is of a Donkey or burro or Ass, not sure which, and he is looking straight at the viewer from the painting. There is a blue background. He is, actually, quite adorable.

I hope to be able to get the pictures to you later today and if it is yours I would love to know something about you and your art to pass on to my mother-in-law. They were orginally from the Philadelphia area and Trenton. I am not sure where they were when they picked up the painting.

Cindy please send me your email address

To Rosemary Volz

If you still have the woodblock of Paul Honore I would be interested in it.

While cruising the net looking for info, I saw your note about the painting of the donkey by Paul Honore. Paul was my grandfather and during the 50's until his death in 1956 he was living in the Philadelphia/Maryland area. It would not be impossible for his paintings to turn up in New Jersey since he had connections and was involved with various institutions up and down the East Coast. I'd really love to see what it looks like if you have the ability to email it. My email is suzihonore@verizon.net.
Look forward to hearing from you.

I just saw this photo on facebook, and was looking him up to find more info on him and I saw your post. The original post said the photo came from the Midland County Historical Society, so they may have more. Here he is shown painting the murals on the courthouse which are still there today.

I just found this newspaper article on the Midland County courthouse, talking about a book that was written "Michigan County Courthouses" by Michigan Assistant Attorney General John Fedynsky. Here is the link:
