Has anyone heard of the above person, please?
He was my 3x great-grandfather, who was baptised on 3 Nov 1789, in Armley - the family lived at nearby Bramley, and also at Wortley - both suburbs of Leeds. It has been said that he was a cloth and woollen manufacturer, and that he was supposed to have had a successful mill at some stage. However sometime before 1850, his business 'failed', and he was forced to sell, and as a result came to South Australia to make a new life for himself and his family.
His wife, Elizabeth (nee CLARKSON), and 7 of his 13 children also migrated out here, but some of them later moved interstate to Victoria.
