I am looking for ANY information on EUGENE CUNNINGHAM, born in Littor Bally Longford, County Kerry who later, while living at Pinkneyvill, Illinois, on April 11, 1861 enlisted as a Private into the Illinois 5th Cavalry Regiment, migrated to Australia, and supposedly died on December 4, 1964 and was buried in Inverell, Australia.

Any information will be greatly appreciated. jamesmgray@bigpond.com

Rhonda Kohl recently wrote a book on the 5th called, "The Prairie Boys Go to War," and started http://fifthillinoiscavalry.webs.com/ for her to gather information and stories for her next one. He is listed on the Co. K roster.

Also, I have a site dedicated to my 3g-grandfather, Jonas H. Roe, and family which transcribes about 100 letters at http://civilwarletters.150m.com/. He's with Co. M but it would give you a feel for their experience.

From Find-A-Grave, it doesn't appear that he got out of Pickneyville, Ill: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=37...
