Hi, I cannot identify it, but I definitely see the Masonic elements. Underneath the Masonic pyramid-eye it looks a like a dove which, if Catholic, would represent the Holy Spirit.

It seems doubtful to me (a Catholic with good knowledge of Church history & theology) that any sort of Masonic group or association would be sanctioned by the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church and the Masons have pretty much been at odds with each other since the founding of the Masons. But, on the other hand, your father in law lived in Alberta, and not in Rome.

I'm going to ask my uncle about this, he knows a lot about this sort of thing, maybe he can identify it.
