I'm looking for family information on John Fletcher Boot, a Methodist preacher and Cherokee. Base info below is from "Famous Americans." Any help would be appreciated. There is a possible connection to John Fletcher NORTON family.

BOOT, John Fletcher, Cherokee preacher, born about 1796 ; died 8 August 1853. He was a brave warrior and a member of the Cherokee national council. In 1825 he was converted to Christianity, and in 1827 licensed to preach. He was subsequently ordained a deacon in the Methodist Episcopal Church, south, in Nashville, Tennessee, and later received ordination as elder in Lebanon. He preached effectively in the Cherokee tongue.
