Hi. I just have learned today that a few names in my father's history could be of Sephardic origin?
Fuentes, Torres, Paredes, Nava, Luna

My family does not appear to have very much information on anything, so I do not know how to go about researching much of anything.

Do you know where they lived? If it was England, and particularly London google Bevis Marks which is the congregation for Spanish and Portuguse Jews . They have been very helpful to me.
cheers and good luck p.s. there is a web site for Sephardic Surnames try googling that.

Why do you believe the persons with these names might have been Jewish?

(30) "Raizes Judaicas No Brasil" by Flavio Mendes Carvalho. This book contains names of Sephardim involved in the inquisition in Brazil. Many times date of birth, occupation, name of parents, age, and location of domicile are also included. Included in this list are the names of the relatives of the victims. Many of the victims were tortured to death or exiled so their lines might end right there
