Robert Leonard Solis said he was born in Charleston, SC about 1887.

I do not know if this is true or not. I know he worked for the railroad, met my Grandmother in Merced, CA, married in 1910 and deserted his family of 4 in 1920.

Just in the last week I found out that Solis was a Sephardic Jewish name. I do not know if my Grandfather - Robert Solis -was Sephardic or Jewish or not.

Can anyone help me in my search, specifically or with places I can contact?
