Does anyone have any information about Delechaux/Delotcho
Have Suzanne Delechaux from Valais Switzerland 1757 according to Huguenot records. Settled Spitalfields as silkweavers.
Would appreciate any information

Hello Martin -- I have no connection to the DELACHAUX surname but I thought you might be interested to know that the Surnames List on the Huguenots-Walloons-Europe mailing list website has an entry for someone who is researching DELACHAUX, DELESCHAUX, DELECHAT & etc 1650s Gilly, Canton Vaud, Switzerland and 1740s London. You can find that listing and the name/address of the person who submitted it at: http://www.island.net/~andreav/adnames.htm
That same person also posted several messages to the list about her research when she was a subscriber (she is no longer). You can access those messages in the Searchable list archives, also through the website at: http://www.island.net/~andreav/archives.htm (type in keyword DELACHAUX and that should get you to them. Make sure to look in each year, ie. 2000-2002, and try all variants as keywords to find them all.)
Spitalfields was certainly an area for Huguenot silkweavers. In which Huguenot records did you find Suzanne DELECHAUX?

I had a 5th cousin once removed who did a family tree and DELACHAUX I believe is one of the beginning names. You might try to access ANCESTRY.com. I hope that's correct. If you don't have luck there let me know. I'll have to hunt my research paper work. In Charleston, SC there is a HUGUENOT church. Very historical and also a HUGUENOT bookstore/Society. My understanding is that only this church and another in Virginia are the only two in the US. I might be wrong and if anyone has further knowlege I could like to know as well. The site gives a wealth of derivativse (?). I just found this message board tonight.
