Dear All,

My Great Grandfather was Called Robert Boulter and a Silversmith in Johns Court Marylebone. In a Book on surnames it says that the Boulter name was used by Huguenots and of course he was a Silversmith.
Are there any other Boulters looking for their Hugenot Ancestors and can anybody help me prove thet they were Hugeuenots as so far i only have this information.

I am also descended from a Robert BOULTER, (3x Great Grandfather) the husband of Lydia ROBERTS born about 1800. This Robert had a son also named Robert who was christened 18 Jan 1832 @ St. Mathews, Bethnal Green. Robert Senior was a SilkWeaver.
Some Fifteen years ago I contacted the Huguenot Society and was told by them that BOULTER was not a Huguenot name, at least it did not show up in their records as such and the respondant was not familiar with any known Huguenots with the name. I suspect that the name is Flemish.
Best Wishes,
Chris
