Hello April -- in August, you posted a message saying only that you were "Looking for any info on Jean DU FOLLET (LA FOLLETTE)" but you mentioned no dates or locations. It would be helpful to have those details and might increase your chances that others will reply with useful info.
When and where was Jean DU FOLLET known to have lived? Regards, Andrea (admin for Huguenots-Walloons-Europe Board)

Sorry. Jean supposedly left Anjou (Anjier, Normandy) around 1760? I don't know where he came INTO the U.S. or when for sure. Took with his sons-George,Guillme,Isaac,Joseph,and maybe Charles- left his wife in France because she and her family were very Catholic. NOBODY knows her name or any info on her. There is still a chateau there-Loire River- with the name (now a bed&breakfast?) and supposedly at least 80 Lafollettes (killed by the Catholics)buried in the cemetary. Nobody seems to have anything from France- there are 2 books I'm trying to get a hold of which might help - L'Historie de la Famille LaFollette en Amerique and Three Thousand Years With The Crusading LaFollettes. Thanks for your reply

Both the books you reference are in the Wisconsin State Historical Society Library in Madison, Wisconsin. Some of the facts seem inaccurate, however the majority coincide with my own research on this family. My great grandmother is from the Wisconsin branch of the LaFollette's: Josephine LaFollette(married name Siebecker), she was the sister of Senator and Governor of Wisconsin....Robert Marion LaFollette Sr., a son of Josiah LaFolllette and his wife Mary Ferguson Buchanan LaFollette.
The LaFollette's were wide spread however probably all go back to Jean.
Any information you could share would be useful.
Thanking you in advance,
Judy Siebecker Cantu
