The surname Jay is certainly one that belonged to Huguenots, but was it exclusively so? My late C18 and early nineteenth century Jay ancesors were from the Thorndon, Rishangles, Occold area of Suffolk near Eye, but that does not appear to be a significant area of early H. settlement. Does anyone have any information?
