Hi Ross
I've had a look through my database and have come up with 17 Boynett references, plus a reference to the name originating as BOINET from another researcher in Australia looking for the family, claiming a family history that goes back to Tours (France) tho another Jacob BOINET was in London in 1686, with a family adress in Ran Allee (Ram Alley) in Bethnal Green, so location wise this family looks promising for you.
I've also had a look for BOINET also and that comes up 65 times, including references in one of the French Protestante (effectively, Huguenot) genealogical publications.
Both names are mainly clustered round the East End of London and its various Huguenot/French Churches tho there are some references to Irish lines of the family.
Hope this helps
Regards
