The library is south of Clarksburg and west of Weston. The name of the library is Hacker's Creek Pioneer Library. It is housed in an old school house. They have lots of notebooks full of records and information pertaining to the families who first settled in central West Virginia. Most of these notebooks have been put together by family members. The library is in one large room and there are tables and comfortable chairs in an large room. They also have a table or two set up close to electrical outlets for computers. I could spend hours there. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I try to get there about twice a year. I live about 3hrs south in the coal mining region. I was born and raised in Gilmer County, but moved south when I got married. We have only a few relatives living in Gilmer County now so I don't get to the Library as often as I would like.
Thanks for the information. I don't get to work on my genealogy as often as I would like. I guess I have to many irons in the fire as my grandmother would say. I am substiting in a local grade school, quilt, make cards, attend church, and spend time with my children and grandchildren. My husband and I are WVU supporters and attend football and basketball games when we can.
Have a great evening.
