In older parish records it is common to find names rendered in Latin. Sometimes the Latin is quaint to say the least.

Would anyone know if Amos could possibly be James? I'm not sure if I'm looking at two children or not. The parish records are written in fairly poor Latin and "Amos" is baptised in 1733. "James" marries 20 years later. I cannot find any further record of Amos and cannot find any mention of James's baptism.

Anyone like to speculate?
