To qualify for our new Pioneer Certificate, the person must be directly descended from an ancestor who settled in Muskegon County, Michigan prior to and including the year 1919. Applicants must prove direct descent and prove that the ancestor settled in Muskegon County. You don't have to live in Muskegon County and you don't have to be a member of our Muskegon County (Michigan) Genealogical Society.
