That may be the case that the poster had this person to dinner and asked permission, but he did not respond to my post to say that, now did he? Other people replied about the noise issue, so there isn't a gaping need for my input on that issue. However, no one else replied about respecting copyright law and other people's work product. Many people believe that you can scan, copy and publish elsewhere images and work product you find elsewhere. I am reminding the poster that it's important to determine first whether something is in the public domain or whether it is still under copyright protection. As a person who has had my own writing copied and posted to the family trees of others with no mention of who wrote the text, respect in such matters concerns me. It can take years and years of research and costly travel to have the data and photos to make a book like that, and it isn't okay when people copy it without permission. Sorry you're so testy about it.... For people who are concerned about genealogy manners and copyright law, here's a good site to read about it. Most people are well intentioned but are just not aware of what is legal and what isn't.
