Re: Orphan Train Riders to Louisiana
This is so great of you to do this. My cousin was an orphan train child. Her real birthdate was April 21, either 1906 or 07 I think.
She was adopted in August in New Orleans, LA.
Her adoptive parents were Mr. And Mrs. Henry Freie.
That is the only information I have. Years ago, I saw the little number printed on a piece of ribbon that was pinned to her, but it has since been lost. Any further information would be appreciated.

Re: Orphan Train Riders to Louisiana
I was told today that my relatives may have come on the Orphan Train. The Surname was Wills, first names John(grandfather), Theophile(father), Haydel Joseph(son). I have traced the ancestry and found where Theophile and Haydel were ophans but going back John was a dead end.

Re: Orphan Train Riders to Louisiana
My grandfather came to Louisiana on the orphan train (called it the baby train) in April of 1907. His name was Stephen O'Reilly, in which they later shortened it to Riley. My family has been searching for information. Can you help?

Re: Orphan Train Riders to Louisiana
I'm not sure if this site remains active or not. I am looking for information on my grandfather, Leo King Thibodeaux. He was born 10/04/1908 and brought to NYFH 10/15/1908 by his mother Sadie King. In June 1912 he was placed with Eugene and Louise Thibodeaux in Lockport, LA, via the orphan train. Any information as far as his father or any siblings would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, Celeste

Re: Orphan Train Riders to Louisiana
The "site" is active, but the original poster has not made a post to the boards in over 10 years.
So it's unknown if the person who made the lookup offer is still active.
