I am looking for orphanages operating in Ontario in the period 1913-1929, especially in the Hamilton and Sarnia/Point Edward areas. My mother and her two sisters were sent to an orphanage (or perhaps separate orphanages). Their parents were still living, so they were not technically orphans, but for some reason were sent away. I'd like to find out where they were sent, when and why.

I would appreciate any leads.
