I lived at the Orphange not sure what year I arrived but left to live in the Stephem Wiggins Home for Boys in 1963 I created a web site dedicated to it here
http://personal.nbnet.nb.ca/pawl/ the only things I remember about the P.O. was two girls I suspect were in their late teens whose job was to look after us locking the door to the ward so the other boys could beat me up and the old guy that ran the boiler room locking me the coal room when he finally let me and the other child that was with me out it was dark outside so I was in the room for quite awhile. Some woman that had a working room next to my ward taking my pants down and beating my bare bottom with a strap she was hitting me for so long that another boy had to tell her to stop or he would report her. I was 5 years old at the time. My backside hurt for along time after that and I had great difficilty sitting at meals.
