What would be the best way to try and trace ancestors that lived in Ukraine?
My great grandad was John Gilinski (Born 1876 according to his twin Simon's marriage certificate, or 1882-1884 according to the 1911 census) Their Father was a Farmer also called Simon according to the marriage certificate.
They supposedly lived in Mariupol, Ukraine; before the settled in Widnes, England.
Is it likely I will be able to confirm they lived in Ukraine?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
